Website Design with Content Management

As it says, Content Management is the ability to manage yourself (rather than getting me to do it) the content of your website.

The website is designed with an extra section for the site's manager. This section is fully protected by encrypted passwords. The manager (you) can log into the website and add, amend or delete content (text and pictures mainly) from the site using a simple web browser.

Content Management suits any organisation who's information changes rapidly. If for example you are a new businesses and you know that things are going to change rapidly, new products, changes to location, then this may be the solution for you. It also suits clubs, parish councils etc, the sort of organisation where meeting minutes, reports etc. are produced by a team of people who need to collaborate to get the information out. One company who sell content management systems describe themselves as "community plumbing" which I think is a very neat and succinct way of putting it.

We can either design around an off-the shelf web application called Drupal or custom build your website to your exact specification.

Content Management Systems are not for everybody. They are more expensive than a simple static website design. With Content Management systems the website design can be less flexible. Also they don't work as well with the search engines.
